Just wanted to add an update, the Sasa trail will be privatised from 1st March 2024 so will cost 20 USD to use but this will get you a bed in a dorm lodge. UWA have created another trail from Bushiyi which we ascended and then we came down Sasa (3d2n in total) – Bushiyi seemed much better as it was mainly covered in the forest up to about 3500-4000m. UWA in Mbale can also arrange food shopping for 40,000 pp per day and although more expensive, we had some great meals. Lastly nights are cold so bring lots of warm clothes and make sure to wear sunscreen. Thanks again for your blog ☺️
